Meditation for our young people

Now more than ever young people need support to create balance in their lives. Too many young people feel overburdened with school assessments, homework, social pressures and the busyness of the day. Less time is spent in outdoor activity, less quiet and rest, instead more time if focused online and sedentary and much of this is school and study driven too.

When our bodies and brains are over stimulated they can shut down and switch off, we feel foggy headed, fatigued and agitated. Additionally the cortisol stress response can throw the natural systems of the body into overdrive creating anxiety, panic, moodiness, sleep and digestive problems and stress the immune system.

Young people can truly benefit from meditation, in particular breath centred meditation. This style of deep belly breathing and single minded focus supports young people in their wellbeing, their learning and their life.
